The “History 605” podcast debuted last year, an innovation of Dr. Ben Jones, the state historian and host. Each episode features Dr. Jones interviewing an author about a work on South Dakota history. It is well worth subscribing to in your podcast app.
The October 3, 2022 episode featured a joint interview by Dr. Jones with Jon Lauck and this blogger on The Plains Political Tradition, Vol. 4. Jon Lauck was the editor and leads the effort to compile the Plains Political Tradition volumes; my article focused on the career of William J. Bulow, a conservative Democrat who was Governor of South Dakota 1927-31 and U.S. Senator 1931-43.
We had a fairly wide-ranging discussion, and I’d encourage you to check it out.
